As an owner, you are responsible for the maintenance and repair of the waterworks piping, from the inside of your property to the water shut-off valve (valve and stem included). The latter is located between your building and the city’s main water pipe.

At all times , report an urgent water and sewer problem to the City. Outside of opening hours, follow the instructions provided by the telephone messaging service to reach the on-call service.

PLANNED SERVICE REQUEST: You must telephone the City at least 24 working hours in advance to make an appointment with the City’s drinking water operator. This will allow us to ensure that the work is done when needed.

Major water leak in the street or on your property: Please notify us as soon as possible. Your appeal could help the City limit the damage and start the necessary repairs sooner.

Frozen piping: Get a certified plumber first. This will determine if the problem is domestic or municipal. In the latter case, you will then have to telephone the City.

Waste

The public works department sees to the maintenance of the sewer networks. As an owner, you are responsible for the sanitary and storm sewer pipes, from inside your building to the main pipe located under the street.
