Percé cultural and congress space
The City of Percé is currently working on the incubation of a major heritage and economic development project. The project provides for the recycling of the Church of Saint-Michel de Percé, as well as two other buildings of heritage interest – the Pratto and the old cold store – into cultural and congress space.
As the church building faces the need to find a new vocation in order to ensure its sustainability, the project relies on the transformation of the gathering place to adapt it to new needs, current and future, and this, year round.
It is planned to reconvert these three buildings which will constitute an events campus in the center of Percé to host corporate events and other specific groups, creating a unique “congress-escape” formula. This includes meeting places, workshops and spaces that can accommodate exhibitions and artistic creation. The objective is to work in partnership with the tourism industry already established in Percé, such as accommodation, restaurants and activities, in order to generate an economic activity different from the one we already know. These same facilities will also be able to host cultural performances or any other event of a certain size during the four seasons.
The incubation phase of the project is progressing well!
